Chinese manufacturers ZTE and Huawei are both hoping to follow in HTC’s footsteps, by casting off network branding and promoting their own-brand wares.
By way of Clove, we’re learning of ZTE’s first own-brand effort of 2012, namely the Windows Phone 7.5-rockin’ ZTE Tania. Tania? What the f…?
It’s all about the specs, baby, and the ZTE Tania (that really is a terrible name) comes with a 4.3in TFT WVGA display (480x800), 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 8255 processor, 5MP autofocus camera with flash and Windows Phone Mango.
Price? The ZTE Tania will set you back a reasonable £249.99, a whole £150 less than Windows Phone’s saviour (ahem) – the Nokia Lumia 800.
We’ve seen a fair few Windows Phone 7 deals recently, and a few of ‘em – including the LG Optimus 7 and Dell Venue Pro – have even dropped below the £200 mark.
Clove reckons the ZTE Tania will be available from February 13. Hey, that’s just in time for Valentine’s Day. What better gift? It has a girlie name and everything.
